I went to the Open Gardens today at Bawdeswell and there is a wide variety and some inspiring ideas. They are open again tomorrow, Sunday, 14th July from 10 to 4 and there is also a flower festival in the church. You are sure to see some familiar faces and the hospitality is delightful. What a lovely day we had at Swannington Open Gardens on Sunday, sunshine and cake, saw lots of familiar faces. It was interesting to catch up and to see how the gardens had developed. The next one on my list is Bawdeswell Open Gardens, I haven't been to them before, taking place on 3 days, must be a record, 12th, 13th and 14th July from 10am to 4pm. Gardens will be open in Wood Dalling on Sunday, 16th June 2013 from 10am until 5pm. Tickets £5, accompanied children under 12 go free, from their Village Hall, NR11 6RW if you need to set your satnav! It's a big village. Lots to see in normally private gardens. Coffee, cake, light lunches, cream teas are all available. Plant stalls and facilities at the Village Hall. Why not cycle your way around?

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our Plant Sale this month. We had loads of good quality plants donated by members, despite the trying weather conditions this spring. Everything sold really well. We took over £420 which is the best for several years. The weather on the morning was kind, which was a relief! So do please pot up any seedlings you remove from your garden and grow them on for next year's sale.
Our main outing this year is to Beth Chatto's famous and delightful garden near Colchester on Sunday, 7th July. The cost is £16 which includes travel by coach and entry. There are still places available for members and friends.
The Gardening Club Plant Sale is our annual fund raiser. It takes place on Saturday, 11th May from 8.30 a.m. in Reepham Market Place. Members with plants to contribute - grown from seed, cuttings, lifted or divided - please bring them to the Bircham Centre the previous evening, Friday between 6 and 7 p.m. They will be very welcome. Then come and support the Club at the Plant sale, all help much appreciated.
Thinking about our Plant Sale on 11th May, anyone kindly lifting and dividing and in need of pots, may find it useful to know that at Woodgate Nursery, Aylsham there are pots available in all sizes. Free. Their tea room is very good...
Stella Neale thanks all members & friends for the cards & presents that she received for her 90th Birthday in January. She had a lovely time at the Tea Party & was glad that despite the awful winter weather, so many people attended.
Well there are always surprises, and from expecting a talk on the regeneration of Holkolm Hall walled garden we were thrust instead deep into a Norfolk Wood, Swanton Novers near Holt.
