Christmas Fun in Reepham

We gathered in the spruced up and beautifully decorated Town hall , as usual for our Christmas meeting, as always a social event. Many thanks to our chairman and committee for organising such a hilarious evening. The generosity of all members meant  plenty of food, and the chance to sample ten different sorts of sausage roll, and yes I tried them all!

There was a 'lucky dip' and for only fifty pence I was able to 'choose', luckily, some gorgeous crucuses. Some other people found, that 'luckily' they too could choose just what they wanted!

December Meeting - an Invitation to you

Our December meeting is on the third Tuesday (not as per printed programme), 17th December starting at 7 pm prompt for food and refreshments, at the usual venue - Reepham Town Hall.  This year there will be an entertainment, " Up the Garden Path".  Please bring a plate of food, whatever you like, to contribute to the festive feast.  We will provide the drinks.  A relaxed evening and a chance to chat among friends.

Bag Sale at 15th October meeting

At our next meeting on Tuesday, 15th October as well as a talk on composting, it's the autumn Bag Sale.  Divide and lift plants from your garden which are surplus to requirements, put each into a carrier bag and bring them to the meeting.  Then buy for a mere 50p a bag of something new to take home.  You can chat to the donor for lots of information about what you are tempted to buy.

Summer Show this evening

A sunny day for picking your 5 tomatoes or a bunch of herbs to enter in the Summer Show this evening!  Tuesday, 20th August, please bring your entries to Reepham Town Hall from 6.30 pm and set them out.  The full Schedule is available here on the website by clicking on Meetings on the toolbar above.  It's a social evening, so even if you do not wish to enter, come for a drink and a chat and take part in one of the Club's main events.

BUDDLEIA

I have lovely dark purple buddleia with only a few butterflies on it. I pass a neglected garden up the road with the common, pale mauve buddleia which is covered with butterflies. I used to dislike this common pale one, though now I quite like it, which is why I have the dark one. I used to collect them, when I had a much bigger garden, and had just about all the variations, including the yellow round flowered sort, and the large flowered pink one but don't remember any significant difference in their attractiveness.

August Show

Our Summer Show is on Tuesday, 20th August 2013.  Bring your entries between 6.30 and 7.15pm please and don't be shy, when it comes to judging plates of tomatoes on the table, we all prefer to see several rather than one perfect entry.  Members do the judging, sticking stars to their favourite's card which bears only a number.  It is a social evening, not an examination!  If you are considering joining Reepham Gardening Club, this would also be a good time to come and have a look and a chat.
